A Man and His Mother

My father always told me, if you want to know whether a man will treat you right, just watch how he treats his Mother. A lesson I learned late in life, but one that I treasure always. When I met Michael Roberts on a forum for Veterans with PTSD, one of the first things he shared with me was how much he cherished his Mother. He sent me a photograph of the two of them dancing at his wedding. If ever one can be witness to true adoration between a son and his Mother, this photograph captures this moment in time.
Michael was and still is a wonderful example of a real man, a real father to my daughter and his two sons, and a devoted partner to his lady, Dee. He is a gentleman of the first degree, and a Veteran who continues to carry his devotion and loyalty to his brothers and sisters in arms and his country on his sleeve. Dee, stands by his side, every step of the way, as do most loved ones of Veterans, and their precious dog, Boots, is ever-present and lovingly attentive to Michael's needs.
This story, people, is what makes up the backbone of a country like America. Michael Roberts, his family, December Maglior and their dog are the perfect example of the kind of people who will fight to defend America and freedom.
It is an honour to know Michael, Dee and Boots and to share this opportunity to celebrate Veterans of the US Armed Forces. Semper Fidelus!
