Being Thankful

You wake up, all safe and cozy and warm in your home. Switch on the coffee, the TV, sit on the veranda and look out across the garden -your kids are playing happily and the dogs are running around like loony tunes! "It's a fine day!", you think to yourself. You're busy - kids have to go to school, hubby or wife off to work, or you have a home to clean and meals to prepare.
HOW MANY OF YOU THINK ABOUT THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO PROVIDED YOUR FREEDOM? Do you wonder if they are still on active duty? Have they returned from a tour of duty? Are they suffering from post-traumatic stress? Are they living at home with their families and getting the love and support they deserve? Are they living on the streets, unwanted, misunderstood and discarded?
Next time you're out there, take a good look around. If you see a Veteran or a homeless person on the street, stop by and give them some food, a coffee, a hug, if they want it.
Don't take your freedom for granted, somebody had to fight for it.
